Student Registration for NHD in PA @ Messiah

Welcome!  We look forward to you participating this year!

Students, please note:

  • You can only begin registration AFTER your teacher has registered. Please make sure your teacher has completed registration before you begin! If you have any questions about registering, please ask!
  • If you are registering as part of a group project, ONE member needs to register FIRST. The first student in the group to register will create the project entry. That student will provide the other group members the "Team/Project Key" to be used when the rest of the team members register. The "Team/Project Key" will appear for that first team member in the confirmation screen as well as in their student profile when logged in. It is that "Team/Project Key" that links all team members to their project. Send the key to the other members of your group.  Here is an example of the Team/Project Key: b965f631-a8a0-4eff-8145-d1698f3618d3. Please, if you have any questions, ask first!
  • Be sure to review the updated NHD Rule Book as well as the new NHD Evaluation Forms for projects. Here is a Summary of the Rule Changes implemented beginning this year.

Teacher Registration for National History Day @ Messiah

Welcome to the registration site for National History Day @ Messiah!

Teachers, you must create an account first before you can register your students or have your students complete their own registration. Please ensure you complete this process before asking students to register!

Registering as a teacher is pretty straightforward, general information such as name, email, phone number, school or schools. When you choose your school or schools that you are associated with, this will connect you to that school and allows for your students to choose your name when they choose their school. You should be able to find your school on the list, but if by chance it is not there, please let Cathay Snyder (csnyder@messiah.edu) know and we will get it added. If you do not choose your school or schools and associate your name with them, you or your students will not be able to complete registration.

If you will be registering your students rather than having them register themselves, you will need the following information:

  • the student's name, email, parent's email, and home address
  • the complete title of the project and the appropriate project category
  • the name(s) of all group members (if applicable)

Each student MUST be registered individually, even if participating in a group project.

  • For Group projects, ONE member needs to register FIRST.

Thank you for supporting National History Day®! Truly, this day could not happen without the interest and support of you, our judges.

National History Day® is an experience that positively impacts students throughout South Central Pennsylvania. It helps students further develop their research skills and bolsters their confidence, which ultimately improves their academic success! Participating students spend months brainstorming, researching, writing, editing, and preparing for competition.

Judging the History Day competition is a great way to get involved in this event and provide students feedback on the projects they have spent so much time and energy creating. Judging is key to the success of the History Day program! We very much appreciate your time and energy in participating as a judge for the regional competition here at Messiah College and look forward to your participation this year.
